With CLUB NIX 119, Mark Norman delivers a melodic techno set that goes beyond the usual DJ mix format. This one’s personal: a blend of peak-time pressure, late-night emotion, and stories from a career that spans decades and continents.
From Dirty Drops to Emotional Closers
CLUB NIX 119 opens with raw energy — a filthy remix of Nothing Wrong and club-favorite pressure from AYYBO, Anyma, and Layton Giordani. But things quickly deepen.
By Block 2, the vibe shifts into hypnotic mode: Ezequiel Arias delivers a dreamlike moment, while Lorch and Temple Tears strip it back to shadows and echoes.
Then comes the pivot: two originals by underground legend Papa Smurf — a name that might be unfamiliar to some, but not to Norman.
“Papa Smurf flew me to Australia back in the day. Gave me a stage, gave me a crowd. Now I’m playing his tracks — full circle.”
Machine Music, Legacy Sounds
Halfway through the mix, Norman drops a track from his own archive: Blikkenmachine, first released in 2008 on the album Colours.
It’s raw, sharp and unapologetically analog.
“We built it on machines. No presets. No polish. Just pressure.”
The set closes with a timeless remix of Heaven Scent by Marsh — a trance legacy track reimagined for the modern floor. A reminder that some melodies never fade.
